Sarah Sutton


Sarah Sutton LEED-AP and Green Globes Professional is CEO of Environment & Culture Partners, to strengthen and broaden the environmental leadership of the cultural sector.

 

She and her team work with zoos, gardens, museums, aquariums and historic sites to identify and fund greener approaches in programs, operations, and building and site management. Some of her current consulting clients are the Minnesota Historical Society, Strawbery Banke Museum (NH), Detroit Zoological Society, Burlington County Historical Society (NJ), and the United Keetoowah Band (OK) John Hair Cultural Center.

 

She has been in the museum field for over thirty years as a grant writer, and consulting on sustainability for the last decade. She is a 2019 Salzburg Global Fellow; cultural sector lead and executive committee member for We Are Still In; and recipient of the inaugural Individual Impact award from the American Alliance of Museums’ Environment & Climate Network (2019).

 

Sarah is the author of Is Your Museum Grant-Ready? Assessing Your Organization's Potential for Funding, Environmental Sustainability at Historic Sites and Museums, and The Green Nonprofit: The First 52 Weeks of Your Green Journey.

 

She is co-author of both editions of The Green Museum: A Primer on Environmental Sustainability.
